FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND
(The day I walked with the Lord)
Last night i had a dream, I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. And across the sky flashed scenes in my mind and for each scene, I noticed, two sets of footprints in the sand; one belong to mee and the other to the Lord. And after the last scene on my mind, light flashed before me. i looked back at the footprints in the sand, and I noticed that many times along the path of my life, especially at the very moments of distress, there was only one set of Footprints in the Sand. Now this way troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it. "Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, you will stay with me and walk with me all the way, but I noticed that during the saddest and loneliest times of my life, there was only one set of Footprints in the Sand. I don't understand why when I needed you the most, you would leave me." The Lord replied: "My child, my precious child, I love you and I will never leave you. During those times of your sufferings, when you could see only one set of Footprints in the Sand, it was then, when I carry you."
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
"Do not be afraid for I am with you, stop being anxious and watchful for I am your God who give you strength, who bring you help and uphold you with my vistorious right hand."
"Ask, and you will recieve, seek, and you will find, knock and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks receives, who seeks finds and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."
"Whatever you eat, whatever you drink, whatever you do at all, do it for the glory of God. Fill your minds with everything that is true, everything that is noble, everything that is good and pure, everything that we love and honour, and everything that we can be thought virtuous or worthy of praise."
So then, dear brothers and sisters, "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven," stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by this letter."
